Remodeling a bathroom is a time when you can be creative in the designs you want. Remodeling a bathroom is easy if you don’t have to remove any plumbing pipes or electrical wiring. However, there are a lso a lot of other general issues to consider before you begin your bath design. This includes:
- Layout. Think about the bathroom you have now and what would you like to fix the most.
- Mechanical systems. Plumbers love it when all of your rough plumbing is found behind one wall.
- Maintenance. Think about what needs maintained like stained grout, mildew and soap buildup for starters. Make sure the materials you use are waterproof and washable.
- Energy and water conservation. People’s hot water heaters take up a lot of energy in the house, the toilet takes up the most water than any other single fixture. A few solutions might be insualting got water pipes and installing low-flow showerheads. This will save you money in the long run!

The bathroom is a high traffic room in your home. After all, it is more than likely one of the most used rooms in your home. A key first step in planning out your bathroom layout is to take an estimate of the room. You need to plan this in order to know where everything will fit and how much extra space will be left over. Often, drawing a picture can give you a better understanding. Some sites even have 3-D software that allows you to put your measurements in and then create your plan.

Every Friday, I will be posting Rebath testimonials from our nationwide franchisees. In my first testimonial post, I will be spotlighting Rebath of Illinois and their skilled professionals. Have a pleasent and safe weekend everyone!
Dear ReBath of Illinois, My wife and I are writing this letter to thank your company for our beautiful new bathroom! We’re extremely pleased with the final product. Our experience with ReBath of Illinois has been a very positive one from start to finish.
Both of us were quite apprehensive about hiring a company that we were unfamiliar with to handle our late 1880’s bathroom job. However, the salesman pleasantly surprised us. Nick’s professionalism, knowledge, and patience with our many questions the night we met. Nick allowed us time to fully understand your product and the procedures that would be used on our bathroom.
Even when your workers found some very challenging surprises in our old bathroom, they handled them with expertise and professionalism. We were very impressed with their workmanship the entire time they were in our home. We felt very comfortable with each phase of work that they did because both us were allowed to ask questions as the work progressed and that allowed us to fully understand all that was happening. Your work crew was professional, friendly, Clean, and very considerate. It was a pleasure having them do the bathroom. We’ve already gotten several great comments about the new bathroom and are thrilled each time we walk in and enjoy it! Sincerely, Gary and Deb Rettig

Adding bath accessories can transform your bathroom in less than a day. Go out and select a group of Amenities that go well together. Don’t be shy about spending your money because the price is relatively small compared to other home improvements that you might make. Decide on a towel rack replacement. Make sure that the towel can hang atleast two-thirds of their full length. You probably will not be able to position the towel rack with the wall studs, but you do want a wall with some strength. The next thing that you can do is look for a soap dish that installs right into the tile walls. More than likely, you will remove two tiles from the surround area and apply some adhesive. Tape the dish into place and make sure it has enough time to set and finish the edges with caulk or grout. Lastly, a security rail is very helpful to assist the elderly or disabled. It prevents any harm or injury that can occur while exiting or entering the bath/shower. Again, don’t be shy about spending some extra money. A few touch ups in your bathroom can make your bathroom look luxurious.
